The Power of Doing Good

We can all agree that 2020 was rough in many ways; there was the good, the bad, and the ugly. With so much craziness and uncertainty in the world these days, it’s important to focus on doing more good.  

Learn. Grow. Belong.  

St. Michael Special School’s (SMSS) motto is Learn. Grow. Belong. SMSS aims to provide an environment where students can do just that! The school is unique because it provides for the development of the whole child—academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually—regardless of his or her disability. The school was founded in 1965 in New Orleans by Sister Lillian McCormack. Since then, SMSS has served over 6,000 students with mild to moderate intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. 

If you have a passion for the positive, please join us in St. Michael Special School’s annual fundraiser. The Ray and Jessica Brandt Family Foundation has generously donated a 2021 Toyota Camry LE for the SMSS Car Raffle. 

Jessica Brandt commented, “The work St. Michael Special School is doing matters! They help learners with developmental disabilities discover their strengths and reach their full potential. With so much uncertainty in the non-profit fundraising arena, it’s imperative that we find ways to keep giving back even when we can’t be together.”
