If you like delicious crawfish and awesome live music, you’re in luck! The second annual NOLA Crawfish Festival is coming up Monday, May 1st – Wednesday, May 3rd. The festival takes place at Central City BBQ at 1201 South Rampart Street. The festival brings together a trifecta of Louisiana perfection – crawfish, beer, and music. NOLA Crawfish Festival Performances
There is going to be a ton of killer music at the NOLA Crawfish Festival. The full roster of artists is George Porter, Jr., Jon Cleary, John Medeski, Luther Dickinson, Eric Krasno, John “Papa” Gros, Robert Mercurio, Jeff Raines, Ivan Neville, Nigel Hall, June Yamagishi, Corey Henry, Tony Hall, Derwin “Big D” Perkins, Raymond Weber, Cris Jacobs, Raw Oyster Cult, Terence Higgins, Khris Royal, Boukou Groove, Eric Lindell, Simon Lott, Joe Ashlar and Organ Freeman. You won’t get a chance to see all of these legends on stage together again!
The festival will run from 3 PM – 10 PM each day. Attendees can enjoy over 5,000 pounds of hot boiled crawfish prepared on-site by Chef Chris “Shaggy” Davis, and his staff, ice-cold beer from NOLA Brewing, and critically acclaimed barbecue from Central City BBQ. Shaggy Davis is considered crawfish royalty of southern Louisiana and once you try his, you will see why! He uses only the freshest, local seafood seasoned with tried and true flavors. The festival will end with the Ultimate Crawfish Cook-Off event, where twenty teams will compete for the best crawfish boil determined by a panel of New Orleans celebrity judges.
General admission to the festival includes one beer and a guaranteed minimum of two pounds of crawfish with all the fixings you could dream of. The event is 18+ unless accompanied by an adult. Kids get in free! Tickets can be purchased, here.
