Start your Halloween celebration off early with Boo at the Zoo! Your entire family is sure to enjoy this activity. Oh, and don’t worry – it’s kid-friendly. So, holiday nightmares are a thing of the past!

What is Boo at the Zoo?

“Boo at the Zoo” is a special event that takes place all across the nation. This Halloween activity is a great option for parents with small kids, because they can celebrate the holiday without all of the terror and gore.

During Boo at the Zoo, children typically trick-or-treat with the various candy vendors, play games, and indulge in multiple entertaining activities. Check out what’s going on this year at Audubon Nature Institute.

Audubon Nature Institute’s Boo at the Zoo

This year, this zoo is amping up the fun with lots of exciting activities. Prepare for FREE trick-or-treat houses, fun games, and even a ghost train! Plus, what’s Halloween without a haunted house? Check out all that you can expect at this upcoming event:

  • Zombie-themed Ghost Train Ride (Train line closes at 7:30pm each night. May be scary for all riders.)
  • Monster Maze by a-MAZE-ing returns
  • Laser Tag Game and Angry Bird Launchers provided by Games2U Nola
  • Scary and non-scary Haunted Mansion
  • Trick or Treat Houses for the little goblins and ghouls to stock up on candy and treats (Bags will be distributed at the entrance to trick or treat area.)
  • Fun games and inflatables
  • Special location for Toddler Area in Audubon Zoo’s Cool Zoo area (No water will be running)
  • Live entertainment on two stages
  • Star Wars characters
  • Audubon Zoo Animal Encounters (from 5pm – 8pm)
  • Endangered Species Carousel (included in admission)
  • Costume and Stroller-wagon decorating contest (Only on October 21, 27 and 28)

Boo at the Zoo is a safe event that is perfect for children up to age twelve. Most of the added fun and games come FREE with admission, so be sure to bring the entire family along for a great time!
